The Importance Of Social Distancing

Medical providers are finding more people who show no symptoms while still testing positive for coronavirus, while others can be infected for a couple of weeks without showing symptoms. Social distancing comes with a recommended 6 ft. between yourself and others.

Social distancing has evolved as the pandemic has spread vastly around the world. Social distancing includes the cancellation of large events where crowds of people would usually gather. The current CDC guidelines go further and recommend staying at least 6 feet away from others who are not in the same household as you. Below are important guidelines  from the Center for Disease and President Donald Trump to help slow the spread of COVID-19:

  • AVOID DISCRETIONARY TRAVEL, shopping trips, and social visits.

  • DO NOT VISIT nursing homes or retirement or long-term care facilities unless to critical assistance.

  • AVOID SOCIAL GATHERINGS in groups of more than 10 people.

  • Avoid eating, drinking at bars, restaurants, and food courts- USE DRIVE-THRU, OR DELIVERY OPTIONS.

  • IF YOU WORK IN A CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE INDUSTRY, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain normal work schedule. You and your employee’s should follow CDC guidance to protect your health at work.

  • Work or engage in schooling FROM HOME whenever possible.

Social distancing exercised during previous pandemics and epidemics, including the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic in the United States, have proven that preventative measures in the early stages of an outbeak significantly decrease the spread of the disease. We can all help one person at a time by abiding by the CDC guidelines for social distancing.

Stay Safe.
